Trip Description:

This Excursion is the one that started it all. O.X. spends more time on this mountain than all other companies combined.
Volcan Acatenango, the sleeping giant that looms over the Antiguan valley is in the opinion of O.X. the most beautiful and diverse volcano in all of Guatemala. Acatenango is the third highest volcano in all of Central America and it guarantees a challenge and adventure. Sleeping overnight gives you the amazing opportunity to experience a sunset and sunrise from almost 4,000 meters. The air is crisp and cool and the beauty mesmerizing. And from this vantage point you hang out above the clouds with your neighbors, Volcan Agua and the ever angry, lava spilling Volcan Fuego which seems so close you can touch it. We do not know exactly what is going to happen up there but we guarantee something will happen. And after this, you will truly understand why we say, “Pacaya’s for Pussies”!!!!
